Professor Mark RatnerNovember 17, 2011:  Our Chair-Elect and Gibbs Jury Chair, Avrom Litin, has announced that the Gibbs Jury has elected Mark Ratner, the Dumas University Professor at Northwestern University, the ACS 2012 Willard Gibbs Medalist.  Professor Ratner is the founder of the vibrant research area of Molecular Electronics, and has contributed significantly to the theory of ion transport in solid electrolytes, to molecular nonlinear optics and the theory of electron transfer phenomena in organic solids, and to self-consistent field methods for understanding molecular vibrations.  We congratulate Professor Ratner and are thrilled that a Chicago Section member has received this prestigious honor.

Join the International Year of Chemistry Global Water Experiment.  Run the experiment with your school or organization and post the results to support the international effort.
