Bubble Brew
Recipe II

  • 1 cup liquid dishwashing detergent
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 3-4 tablespoons glycerine (found at drugstores)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • large plastic container
  • "found" bubble makers (see below)

Blowing and chasing bubbles is great entertainment for all ages.   Here's the perfect recipe that will guarantee spectacular bubbles whether you blow them or wave your bubble maker like a wand.

Gently stir all ingredients together in a big plastic container.   Then be a detective in your home and hunt for clever, unbreakable items that will make super bubbles.   To get you started, try: plastic six-pack beverage holders, biscuit cutters, paper cups, plastic coat hangers, antique rug beaters, straws, and funnels.   Dip your bubble makers into the brew and either blow through them or wave them in the air.   If you want to save your bubble brew for another time, cover the plastic container with a tight fitting lid and store.
